Having a telegram arrive in your mailbox is something that will stand out and cause prospects to open it, read it, and either respond or remember your business later on. A regular postcard is good, but it will never have that same effect.

Want a cheap, simple, and easy strategy to increase engagement?
I am back with another peek inside of Dan Kennedy's vault of marketing resources for day eleven of the 21 days of Dan Kennedy and the Magnetic Marketing Search Engine. For the past couple of days, you've been receiving these emails and watching the videos we’ve created, where I release one thing each day that can be found within the Search Engine that I believe can be hugely beneficial to any business.
The pieces that I have highlighted over the last couple of days contained a lot of outrageous and humorous marketing content that I really enjoy, but that isn’t everyone’s thing. So, today I want to walk you through a more simple piece of marketing that can be quickly and easily swiped and deployed, and contains very straightforward content.
So, what I want to focus on today is a Sales Letter for Dan’s events in 2003. He sent this out around the new year, so it had a Happy New Year theme, and its purpose was to act as a final warning for registrations.
A part of the Sales Letter read, “If you have not already registered for the 2003 events, the earliest registration discounts have been extended, only until January 30th. However, events are already filling up fast and fast action is advised to avoid being shut out.” Inside the receiver would find a desk calendar marked with the schedule of events for the year. Something like this is lightweight and flat making it cheap and easy to mail, yet it acts as a constant reminder to the receiver of the events and the deadline.
At the top of the calendar Dan included a couple of quotes, “In every adversity lies the seed of equal or greater benefit,”“The best advantage is to know something others do not know,” and “Making excuses and making money are mutually exclusive skills.” The sale is contingent upon the attitude of the salesperson, not the prospect. So, as a prospect reading these quotes, it gives you an idea of the kind of mindset Dan and those working with him have and it works to create a positive association that they are going to be seeing and reading every day right in front of them.
This kind of mailer can really be implemented in any business and it doesn’t necessarily need to be used as a deadline warning, but overall it is a strategy that can increase consumer engagement and keep the prospect thinking about you and your business over any of your competitors. Again, this is super simple, easy, and cheap, yet I’m sure many businesses have never even thought about implementing something like this.
This really goes to show how great of an asset the Search Engine can be for your business; this is only one piece of content out of the endless resources we’ve uploaded.

Shave hours off of your content creation process

I am super excited for day ten of the 21 days of Dan Kennedy and the Magnetic Marketing Search Engine. The very first thing you’ll notice about this Sales Letter is that it’s lumpy mail; it’s 3 dimensional, which makes receivers curious about what’s inside. What they find inside are peanuts, which makes sense with the theme and copy.
Here’s a little snippet of the letter, so you can get the full effect.
“Are you nuts? Everybody's gone. I crawled in through the window and overheard them talking about you. I guess you might be offended by this, but they were wondering right out loud, if you were nuts. It was the mention of nuts that got my attention. Why would they accuse you of being nutty? Because about a week ago, maybe a week and a half ago, they sent you all the information about the Glazer Kennedy SuperConference, offered you a tasty discount, warned you that missing the deadline would stick you out in the cold, and it does seem a little nutty that you didn't reply. Heck, Kennedy even offered to buy you a meal just for sending in your best excuse for not attending. Here are the best ones that have come so far already.
I’m so rich, I use hundred dollar bills [Deleted for FCC rules]Hef asked me to babysit the triplets that weekendI’m still grieving over Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's breakup.Way too busy working hard to learn how to work smart. A tsunami.Look, here's what I'm worried about. I get blamed for a lot around here, like breaking in and stealing the cashews out of the dish in the lobby, which I do. But hey, I wanted to say don't blame me if you're nuts enough to miss all of this.”
The letter then continues on with everything that will be happening at the event and multiple urges to get the receiver to sign up before it’s too late.
Now, this is a great example of a Sales Letter within the Search Engine that you can borrow as an outline or a template to easily model in your own business. Really, “Are you nutty enough to miss this special offer?” can be applied to any sale that you're having in your business. Having access to something like this that you can literally search and model within minutes means you can reallocate all of that saved time to other places within your business that need attention.

Don’t waste time and resources without substantial feedback

Today is day nine of the 21 days of Dan Kennedy and the Magnetic Marketing Search Engine. The content I want to walk you through today was briefly talked about during a recent Diamond call Q&A with Dan, which reminded me of the piece and the benefits it could provide to various businesses. It was an insert within one of the monthly Newsletters in which Dan simply asked for feedback from Members on an idea he was thinking of implementing.
There are three specific elements about this insert that I particularly liked:
There was a money mint attached to it, making it 3D lumpy mail. It was given a money theme, making it fun and exciting.Its contents were simple yet intriguing.I want to provide you with a snippet of text from the insert so that you can understand Dan’s idea clearly.
“I need your feedback. As you can see, I've attached a money mint to the top of this page as a little token of thanks for a few minutes of your time and thought. An idea was suggested to me during my most recent call-in day that has really grabbed me, but now I want to know what you think.
Here's the idea. I will acquire a nice condominium here in beautiful sunny Phoenix at a complex with a pool. And in it install my entire personal resource library. All my books, manuals, courses notes, videotapes, audiotapes, literally the works, which if cataloged would fill a book. Also, I would put in a comfortable conference room and work area, good photocopier, TV, and VCR.
The bedroom, kitchen, and living room will be furnished and fully equipped. Consider it the Kennedy Direct Marketing Library. Inner Circle Members can come and stay. I'm thinking of maybe four-day blocks Monday through Friday, and three-day blocks Tuesday to Thursday.
You'll rent the facility for one of those two time periods, come to Phoenix, rent a car, stay there, and you'll have sole, private access to everything the entire time you're there. You can read, relax, watch, copy most anything you want. Think, relax, and re-energize.”
The copy goes on a bit to continue explaining the idea along with pricing. Then on the back, it reads, “Please fax back to Dan.” Below that are different feedback options such as, “Smart Idea. Dumb Idea. Not sure. I’d be very interested. If I came, I'd prefer... Four days. Three days. Summer. Winter. Fall.”
Although he did not end up going through with it, Dan received some really great feedback from Members regarding this idea. The reason I wanted to show this piece of marketing content to you is because it’s a really great way to introduce a potential new product or service to your customers, clients, or patients. It is always a smart idea to see how your target market will react to something new before deploying endless resources, and this is a fun and intriguing way to get the feedback you need. From this piece you can take the copy, the idea, and/or the layout and structure to create your own feedback mechanism in minutes!

Don’t fall victim to the biggest sin in marketing

Today is day eight of the 21 days of Dan Kennedy and the Magnetic Marketing Search Engine, leaving us with just two weeks to wrap up our deep dive into the various resources within the Search Engine. Yesterday I walked you through Dan’s Sales Letter for his last ever Copywriting Mastery and Sales Thinking Boot Camp, which makes for the perfect swipe and deploy resource.
Today, I want to contrast that with one of my all time favorite Sales Letters created for the 2011 Info-SUMMIT Event, an event focused on growing your information marketing business. This too makes for a great swipe and deploy file, but in different ways. The Boot Camp Sales letter, if you watched the video on our blog, was only made up of black, white, and a bit of green coloring. The Info-SUMMIT Event Sales Letter on the other hand, has a very specific and exciting theme; it was made to look like a National Enquirer tabloid. This idea came from the fact that the celebrity speaker, Ian Calder, was the former Editor in Chief at the National Enquirer.
This theme provided a way to make the Sales letter much more exciting and fun for Members and prospects to open and read. One of the biggest sins in marketing is being boring. This gave the event color, comedic relief, and a fun and creative atmosphere within the reader’s minds...far from boring. This Sales Letter is a really great example of how marketing and copywriting don’t need to be so serious and factual all the time.
One of my favorite pieces of content within this Sales Letter reads, “How I lost 51 pounds in just three days by attending the Info-SUMMIT. Lose up to 70 pounds in just three days. The first ever effort, free fat burning system that pays you to lose weight.” Obviously this wasn’t true or real, but it was a humorous way to get readers to continue reading and having a good time doing so.
Another fun piece reads, “The insider information, ideas, and strategies revealed by Dan and Bill’s and his handpicked info-marketing superstars that is so powerful and exciting it revs up your metabolism more than an IV drip of pure caffeine delivering a pint per minute and smearing capsaicin on all your private parts, but with none of the worries and some of the side effects.” First of all it’s funny and second, it’s completely outrageous, but it’s a great way to describe something you want people to be intrigued by.
This Sales Letter is FULL of many more pieces just like these two, all available to you with unlimited access for swipe and deploy or idea generation.
his kind of outrageous marketing may be something you’ve never thought of or never thought could work for your business, but as you can see, it works perfectly for selling something as serious and factual as information marketing education. As much as you want to think it is, your business is not that different from others, and that’s NOT a bad thing. It means that everything within this Search Engine can be highly beneficial to your business and it’s all only a click or touch of the screen away!

Struggle with copywriting no more!

It is day 6 of the 21 days of Dan Kennedy and the Magnetic Marketing Search Engine. Where I let you take a look inside the Search Engine filled with Dan Kennedy’s very own marketing content dating all the way back to 1994, by taking a deep dive into one specific piece of content each day.
Today I want to share with you a Diamond Newsletter that Dan wrote in 2011, that I truly believe is as relevant today as it was ten years ago. The topic that Dan focused on this entire Newsletter on was, “Why You Should Study Fundraising Letters: A Copywriting Lesson.” I want to share with you a snippet of what Dan wrote verbatim:

People feel guilty about ignoring little children and cute pets.It includes an emotion rich photo - The mother looks hopeful and troubled, striking as in need and worthy of help.The precursor “You may have heard about,” suggests you should have known this and makes assertion into accepted fact.“There is no greater gift you can give this holiday season,” is meant to invoke guilt.The P.S. addresses an obstacle to receiving a response - the elephant in the room.Copywriting is often one of the most difficult tasks for business owners, as it is a skill that people often shy away from in fear they will be no good at it. Well, I hate to break it to those people, but without copywriting, marketing can be deemed essentially useless. Lucky for you though, Dan Kennedy has proven to have mastered this skill, and the Search Engine is filled with nothing but his original copy, that you can take, guilt-free, and utilize in your own business. I mean just imagine, an end to writers block, tedious research, brainstorming sessions, et cetera. All progress depends on accurate factual information and analysis about a relevant past and present. A person needs accurate thinking about himself, which is a substance of Psycho-Cybernetics, accurate thinking about his situation, the people around him, and the world around him.Addict:The prospect and customer you want. A person irrationally rabbit, emotionally passionate, and obsessed with the category, product, or service which you operate.Acting:The tool of the copywriter.Advantage: The one thing the entrepreneur seeks to find, capture, or create. What the marketer seeks to exploit without guilt.You really can take a lot of insight from the way that Dan looks at things. Not many people would think or care to take an already existing word with an already existing definition and redefine it in a way that can apply to running a business. Take his definition for Accurate Thinking as an example. How many people do you think found success and rose to the top making decisions and taking action based on their feelings, emotions, and best guesses? I am pretty confident in saying not many.
This may feel like a small bit of insight, but it is only a small part of this entire letter, which is a small piece of everything included inside of the Search Engine, and with each piece of content you will find endless instructive lessons.
One of the best ways to better a business and continue upon the path of success is to think about and look at things from a different perspective. It can often be hard and overwhelming to attempt to get out of your own head though, and that’s why something like this is so valuable.
Dan’s out of the box thinking is what created his success and now you can have access to all of that perspective with the click of a mouse or the touch of a screen!

Do you have a “hate to lose” attitude?

I am back with day four of our 21 days of Dan Kennedy and the Magnetic Marketing Search Engine where I give you a sneak peek inside of the highly valuable resources from Dan Kennedy’s personal vault of marketing content dating back to 1994, all easily searchable within the Magnetic Marketing Search Engine.
Today I want to share with you the Diamond Member Weekly Faxes, which is something that I looked forward to every week, because within these faxes is some of Dan’s most pointed copywriting and thinking, and it was all saved for just the Diamond level Members. I will warn you, the writing and ideas within these faxes are very much aligned with the “Professor of Harsh Realities” reputation that Dan has been known for throughout his career. For me, these faxes helped me to think about my business on a week to week basis and continuously challenge myself and the goals of my business.
One Diamond fax that I very much enjoyed and was able to relate to had a headline that read, “He Smashed His Head Bloody, Pounding It On His Locker Door and Broke Off Two Teeth Biting On It.” The fax went on to talk about the Dan Jenkins football Novel, Semi Tough, based on the behavior of Howe Long during his time playing for the Oakland Raiders and his “hate to lose” mindset.
Dan goes on to talk about how he has found fewer and fewer people exhibiting this mindset in the business world and often see’s business owners shrugging off missed sales, low revenues, et cetera. BUT you receive the kinds of results you expect, and if you are expecting less revenue or sales than the goals you’ve set, this mindset will lead to actions, or a lack thereof, that will produce that result. Dan goes on to explain just how much he HATES not doing well and hates working with people who are okay with creating a loser environment for their business.
This topic and this kind of writing is meant to make YOU as a business owner take a long hard think about your mindset, your actions, the people you employ, the people you work with, the friends and colleagues you spend time with, et cetera.
Are any one of these things holding you back from having a true hate to lose mindset?
If so, then you have some changes to make and NOW is the time to make them.
