okay getting antsy... read ALL spoilers, hints, reviews, and early chapters. The reread is making it worse, especially now that all my books have chp. 2 in them... Need a fix. Who wants to support my habbit?
I think the next few chapters are being released soon. Yay!

Just read chapter 3 and it just raises more questions. Can't wait for more. I'm glad to get a fix of Trent, Jenks, Ivy, Al and Newt all in the first 3 chapters, but its definitely frustrating not being able to keep reading.Anyone notice how the last part of ch 3 goes along with TOR?

Sorry, guess I was too vague. At the end of ch 3 Rachel wishes there was someone gunning for her or Trent but there is, right? In TOR someone is trying to kill Rachel and I would think they haven't just given up.

That is what I thought too, TWiser, but I could've sworn that someone said that Kim said it was Ellasbeth. Can anyone confirm this? The fact that one of the assassins was a vampire, though, is contradictary. Could Cormel be joining Ellasbeth to take out Rachel?
Yes, Kim confirmed on her site that Ellasbeth had hired the assassins to kill Rachel.

What I'm unsure of is it pure jealousy? Or, (like you said Megan) is she joining forces with the vamps for some reason I can't quite figure out.
I think Ellasbeth just doesn't want to lose her second shot at having the power seat right next to Trent. I don't think it has anything to do with jealousy from a romantic perspective. Trent stole Lucy fair and square under the terms of a previously agreed upon all-or-nothing deal. That should have been the end of Ellasbeth's role in Lucy's life. Buuut, *spoilers for MDB* (view spoiler) Ellasbeth is exactly the type of person to see this as a second chance, an opportunity to work on Trent and get him to reconsider marriage to cement political ties. She knows how duty oriented Trent is. But she's also savvy enough to realize that Trent feels something for Rachel, something that could distract him from pressing forward with his duty. I think the vampires were just hired thugs. I suppose Rynn might want to remove any potential obstacles to his plans for Rachel to save Ivy's soul but, then again, I think he knows that Rachel will try to do that anyway regardless of whether she's romantically involved with anyone else or not.
I agree, Veronica. She isn't jealous because she wants to be with Trent romantically. I do believe that it burns her to no end that Trent has feelings for someone she feels is of such low character and standing. I think that just adds to her persistence to get back in Trent's good graces. It does feels like a sort of jealousy though, one born of spite and a notion that Rachel is 'less' in every way that Ellasbeth is 'more'. *spoiler for EA* (thinking back to calling the emergency number for Trent in EA and a certain scene in Rachel's kitchen.)

I think it irks Ellasbeth to no end that Trent holds Rachel in such high esteem and yet treats her with thinly veiled contempt.
I loved that bit in EA. Ellasbeth trying so hard to worm her way into staying with Trent in his bedroom and Trent being all, "Yeah...I don't think so." LOL .
I agree with what all of you are saying about Ellasbeth. I think her hatred for Rachel and her need for control is overcoming her common sense. Is killing Rachel really the best way to get in Trent's good graces?

Chapter four was amazing!!!!!!! I love that Jenks was in on it and that Trent was nervous... Silly them thinking that it will be just one date...
Tina - They are so silly! Are all these feelings just going to go away after a date? Don't think so!I love how much Rachel leaning behind Trent affects him. So cute.
Remember back when Rachel played pool with Wayde and was flirting with him as they played? And then as soon as she grabs a bowling ball in her hand she starts trash talking and flirting with Trent! I loved it! Bout time she starts acting like herself and not keeping it all inside.
Oh my goodness! Trent saying, "We're on a date", like a wiggly puppy. So gorgeously goofy. How can they leave us hanging like that?No kiss? Yeah, right.
Both of these characters are striving to be true to themselves and concurrently be someone that other people need them to be. They are so in love and the harder they try to avoid the inevitable, the better for us readers
They better get a kiss in! I feel like some world disaster will interrupt their date somehow LOL
I know, Trent proudly saying "We are on a date" - It was so sweet and yet a little sad (that he had never had the chance before). I thought for sure Edden was going to screw up the date when he called but thankfully he didn't. I also hope Trent gets his kiss!! Okay, time to go read chapter four again...
For ya'll's sake I hope they post chapter 5 soon and that's all I'm gonna say.

I just read a review that Kim shared on her FB page. As an Al fan, I'm ready to cry. I think I'm afraid, very afraid.

Ok, I'm glad I stopped reading after the review said spoilers ahead. I'll have to read it after the book comes out. I don't minda few hints but I don't want to know everything.
Yes, chapter five would be great!! Tuesdays seem to be the day... I love the suspense and anticipation the month or so before her books come out! Hmmm, just read the review. Not sure what to think, but I am okay with spoilers. Lots of times I can't stop myself from reading ahead or looking at the end of books. It is going to take everything I have NOT to just jump to this chapter 22!
Yeah, teasers are one thing but that reviewer gives away pretty much all the "punch lines" of the various plot lines. It's like having someone tell you who the murderer is at the start of a mystery book.

I understand people wanting to know what is going to happen next. It was killing me (and I was driving my husband nuts) until my ACR arrived. I almost wish I could go back and not know.
Well he did warn there were spoilers. I read it anyways lol. I just WANT THE BOOK IN MY HANDS. Er... in my Kindle!

What did you think of the way the date would have ended in the bowling alley? Do you think Rachel was self sabotaging? or do you think she was just beginning to understand how much she was losing and couldn't help but put it out there?
I love ready y'alls comments! I'm resisting so bad not to read any more than the first chapter though. I want to be able to read it all in one sitting LOL! Which I most likely will be doing when it comes out. 1 week 6 days to go!!!
