Tammie | 4553 comments My 'per'fect book is short as well...if someone else has a 'per' we could get this one done quickly.

...off to work...will check in in a few hours...other will have a chance to tune in by then as well...

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments Don't forget to turn in weapon-boosting tasks before attacking things! If we attack the rock with a 12-Hit weapon, it will only take 5 rounds to kill instead of 6. If we can finish a #1 and get our attack all the way up to 15, we can kill it in 4 hits.

I haven't started the #1 I said I would do yet... Maybe I can find a super short one, unless someone else is almost done with theirs?

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments Pro tip: the Nancy Drew series has almost uniformly short books, mostly over 25,000 words, with a ton in the series, and can pretty much be read out of sequence. Might be great for filling in holes!

Tammie | 4553 comments We have quite a few series books read...not sure how we get a 15 hit weapon, but we should do it!

From the spreadsheet it looks like the weapon starts at 10, so 5 level ups should put us at 15!

If all commits are finished soon we can get to level 15...looking for a #4...not sure I have that without going out of order...which I hate doing...I'm a serious series reader...not OCD....but close I think.

We've got 2 level 4's finished I thought. That should be enough for level 4 and 5, no? I'll see if I can check out the nancy drew #4 just in case. Should only take an hour or so to read.

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments I wouldn't worry too much about getting our attack up to 15 BEFORE we attack the Rock. Rock only does 1 damage per round and we have 20 hp so it'll be easy to beat and it'll only hurt us a little. We level up at 10 xp at which point we heal to maximum hp. :)

CARD 2
The local librarian (a powerful political position in Novel Kingdom) is walking around looking frazzled in the tavern. You gently take the book out of his hands and notice it's a dictionary. You ask him what the problem is. "I just can't find the word I'm looking for! Property of something or other!" You calm him down and assure him that you'll help find the word he's looking for.
Read a book where the plot, a main character, or other large apsect of the book reflects the words definition.

Rewards:
•10 Experience
•1 Greater Poison Potion

Almost done with my #2, so probably can commit to another task or two soon. What do you think the most worthwhile task at the moment? I may check out the next Mercy Thompson just because it has "blood" in the title.

Kazen, let me know if any of these are not quite enough?
Here's what I came up with:
Speaking in Bones (Temperance Brennan, #18) by Kathy Reichs
The Sixth Extinction An Unnatural History by Elizabeth Kolbert
When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, #1) by Seth Grahame-Smith
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson, #7) by Darynda Jones
Plum Island (John Corey, #1) by Nelson DeMille

Hope something strikes someone's fancy.

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments How about "perpetuity" for Dead Aim? Character takes photos, thus capturing instances forever.

Card 2 does seem a bit daunting since it's hard to know if a book fits until it's read, but I think we want the greater poison potion!

An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth by Chris Hadfield

Which talks a lot about being in space/on ISIS and I think it fits really well with Ubiety (the quality or state of being in a place). Doesn't get more about place than Earth v.s. Space.

~ puts captain hat on ~

Most of these books would be fine for bones, as they all quite clearly have bones on the cover.

But this one, I am not so sure:
Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson, #7) by Darynda Jones - its not a 'bone' but more like a piece of gold in the shape of a skull so it most probably wouldn't qualify.

Other than that one though - you have given us lots of options :)
